Christine combined her longtime passion for creativity with her professional experience as a Mental Health clinician to found Sol Sisters Inc. Over the years, a growing fascination surrounding women's rights blossomed as she climbed the ladder of higher education, along with exposure to community organizing and direct community advocacy. Christine obtained her Bachelors degree in 2007 at Azusa Pacific University with a major in Psychology. In 2012, she graduated with a Masters in Counseling Psychology at the University of San Francisco. As a result, her activism has been focused on gender and racial equality. She has served as mental health counselor for low-income students, is diligently working towards her Ph.D in Marriage and Family Therapy at Eastern University, all while leading Sol Sisters network towards our goals to empower women of all backgrounds. She also sits as board member of the University of San Francisco's Latino Alumni Society. She is married to her husband of 2 years and recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. When she's not sleeping, she enjoys photography, concerts, and dance.
TELL US, CHRISTINE, WHAT DO YOU DO?
I founded and direct a nonprofit that aims to empower women of all backgrounds. I am in the final stage of my doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am in love with mama life to my 4 month old baby Queen, Alessia.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT THE AMAZING WORK YOU DO?
I get to take part in empowering women, who in turn empower me. I get to assist people in their healing and tenderness toward self through therapy. I get to uplift under-resourced women with kind words, enriching tools, and a community of women who love and care for them.
SPECIAL TREATS JUST FOR OUR LISTENERS!
I can provide a Sol Sisters tee! They can choose from 2 designs.
